Tony, I'd just like to say that I think this new board is preferable (looks better, easier to use, useful features) than the old one.
It's a great shame we lost some of those posts though. I'm thinking of your memories of the Dome, the discussion about ten minute rounds, Old David and Anglo Italians adventures with their scanners. I don't suppose there's any way of retrieving them is there?
I'm pleased to see we've got our rankings back. Now I have to keep posting because I know it will take an awful lot to get to Wild Angus. If you rank Alan Garfield above Angus there'll be trouble.
I am worried about my karma. I've no idea what it is, but it is now 2. Do I need to take any tablets for it?

I tried to retrieve it but 6k2 the hosts seemed to have lost all their boards such as Woodlows as well. It's a shame but I hope people enjoy this one and post as much as they did on the old one.

Like many others I do find the New Board much better in every way than the previous one.
Like other members I was becoming increasingly frustrated at my inability to access the site when I wanted to and was really fed up with the 6k2 Website that I kept getting logged into instead.
Well done Tony for getting the new site up and running so quickly and one can only hope that it is only a matter of time before all of our old comrades are back.
My Karma seems to be consistently zero, worrying at my age! I presume the clever computer realizes that I am doing most of my postings from work and can measure the nervousness in my fingers expecting my 'boss' to approach at any time.
Oh **** here he is - byeeeee

"Am I thick?" No need for anyone to answer.
I've only just realised what this exalt and smite business means. I thought they were foreign words at first.

You may well be thick, but I am thicker still and have to apologise.
Upon reading The Mad 'Acks Man's comment I dabbled with smite and karma thinking something would appear to explain it to me.
I seemed to dabble upon Wryton who has gone to -1.
I presume this is not good, though I am still not really clear.
Anyway Wryton, apologies at this unintended slur; as they say, I owe you one, and will put it wryt when I know what I'm doing.

Nice one Anglo Italian, and I've given you one, so to speak, just to show my approval.
I think that clicking "exalt" means we are showing our approval for a comment, and "smite" means the opposite. So, each exalt will add to our karma, and each smite will give you a Wryton, so to speak. Anyone got any better ideas?
In reply to the "How do I do bold?" or was it underline question. Highlight the phrase, and then click on the B or i above. Just like that
You can also do really annoying things like making the letters glow, [glow=red,2,300]by clicking on G[/glow]

It was four and now it is three.
I will find out, you know.

Thanks for the explanation 'Ack, but I can tell you now it's not a route I shall be pursuing any further; it's probably designed for a different type of board (with Power Rangers ... I suppose there's a Pokemon and Tellytubby wrestler somehwhere) and I think we are all displaying our (dis)approval of each others' comments in reasoned enough articulate ways without having to reduce to banal numeric values.
(If you agree with mee please, please give me karma points ... NOT)

I've just worked out the censorship mode on the board so now Dick Conlon will appear as that and not Thingy Conlon

"Most users online was 14, Yesterday at 10:34pm".
That would sound wonderful for the site. However, I have checked and last evening there was only one other little post other than my own.
Unfortunately, it seems to underline a quite selfish attitude by people not commenting at all, just going in to see what they can take.
A handful of members are time-consumingly compiling and showing very interesting results, and a couple of others are trying to get some debate going, and there are a number of threads with recent starts and of a general nature that are accessible to everyone - not to mention the possibility of members starting their own new topics.
I thought it was slow as there was a public holiday in parts of the UK this week, but seeing 14 members on line at the same time has really made me think.
It makes me think there are plenty of browsers who have decided this is a good place to go in and take from these few mugs who give.
I guess this must be the world of the internet and I should realise that the lack of filter may attract some problems.
Once again, however, I permit myself to draw the attention of the sleepers to how the givers feel.

The 14 users online at the same time were probably not all members. Totally agree in what your saying.
